“It’s a great place to meet people, I like meeting new    people…I come here every Wednesday and Thursdays, its gets me out of the house and gives my son (carer) a break.”

-Service User, 81 yr-

To promote a sense of independence for aging population.

To prevent, reduce, or delay the need for additional support.

To have a stronger focus on the role of families and local communities to support citizens.

By conducting an series of different service design and user research metholodogy, we gain an overall understanding of the gaps and problems within the Camden adult social care system and particularly problems surrounding loneliness and isolation.

The project final deliverables focused on creating  more opportunities for interest-based and social engagement within the community for the older population in Camden. As well as, encouraging  better community spirit  and family relations to reduce the number of people entering into the care system, also increase capital savings.

CAMDEN COUNCIL PROJECT INITIAL BRIEF

DESIGN OUTCOME

Camden Community Connectors online is a digital interactive sharing platform  which combats social isolation and loneliness by tracking  and matching user profile’s to community interest-based activities or preferences. The platform is able to make recommendations based on the database of services that are offered in Camden.

It is an easy-to-use and responsive app which can be used by both service providers and the user. This is also an effective and efficient method for Camden Council to collect data on the general aging population, mapping their needs to existing community resources.
